direct tv h card: direct tv h card tips
A direct
tv h card is the credit card sized " brain "
that usually comes with your direct tv system What should
you be looking for when shopping for a direct tv h card?
We'll discuss this more below.
(If you

the Internet, click here)
Direct
TV receivers (IRD's) may or may not include a direct tv h
card depending on how new they are. The new series only
include a "dummy" card that allows you to aim
and set up your DSS System. This "dummy" card
only gets a few preview channels and cannot take an e3m.
As of this date any HU card will work in any Direct TV
receiver (IRD). The system requires that the card be
specifically programmed for the receiver (IRD). As of this
writing, most systems still come complete with an h card.
All DTV
systems come with a direct tv h card except lately, they
have begun to leave the card out of the box and mail you
one. If you are out shopping, always look for old stock.
Looking for a popular system? - Look for very, very old
stock. If the card number (S00 xxxx xxxx xx) on the
outside of the box is S00 07xx xxxx xx or lower, then it's
a good bet that it's a ROM2 or ROM3 card and, ROM-2 cards
are better if you can find them. But, you will not know
for sure until you crack open the box and verify it. If
you are out shopping, check for possible revisions in S00
cards.
Finally,
when you must get you direct tv h card serviced, get your
card re-programmed by a reputable dealer who has a Private
Script and is not using Public Jump
Points.
